Upperclassmen and Required Second Years

Undergraduates who enter as first-year students in Boston through fall admission and NUin will live in university housing during their first and second years, unless an academic or co-op experience takes them outside of the Boston area. Undergraduates who enter as first-year students in Oakland through fall admission will live in university housing during their first and second years, whether in Oakland or Boston for the second year, unless an academic or co-op experience takes them outside of those cities.

I Currently Live in University Housing

I have applied and for unrequired students paid my deposit:

Your housing is secured for Spring 2027 and you will live in the same assignment you lived in for Fall 2026.

I have not paid my deposit:

Applications and deposits for Spring are due in January at the same time as Fall; after Fall selection we accept applications and deposits on a rolling basis until we reach capacity for the Spring term. Students who miss the application and/or deposit deadlines waive any guarantee of housing for that term. We are currently on a waitlist for Spring.

If in January, you think you may need university housing for the following spring, place a deposit by the deadline and follow the cancellation deadline schedule.

I Currently Live Off-Campus

I have applied and paid my deposit:

Students with a housing application and housing deposit for Spring 2027 will be able to participate in Spring Placement. More information on the Spring Placement timeline and process will be available in late October.

Pull-In

If you are not continuing from fall and would like to move in with a friend who is continuing in an apartment/suite with an eligible vacancy for spring, you may participate in Pull-In Selection day in November. You will need to provide your Roommate Group PIN and NUID to the person pulling you in. Please note, to assist with the transitions from terms, not all bedspaces will be eligible for pull-in.

Preference Form

If you don’t participate in pull-in , you will be assigned based upon your preferences listed on you PAWS form.

I did not pay my deposit by the deadline:

We are currently on a waitlist for Spring.
