Summer I Move-out

Summer I 2025 semester ends June 24 or students in classes and June 27 for students on co-op. Students will move out, 24 hours after their last final exam or by 7pm on June 24 which ever comes first. For students on co-op that move out deadline is 9pm on on June 27. Students moving to a new assignment for Summer II will move on their assigned Move-to-From Date.

Move-Out Checklist

In order to complete your move-out process, please be sure to:

  • Remove all of your belongings and dispose of trash, recycling, and perishables into your building’s designated areas.
  • Close and lock your windows.
  • Leave your room in good condition to avoid damage or excessive cleaning charges.
  • Complete the Self Check-Out form in Housing Online when you have fully vacated your room assignment. If you have already departed campus, please complete the Self Check-Out process in Housing Online as soon as possible.
  • Residents will be billed for damages that are beyond normal wear and tear. If there is damage in your room, please indicate this on your Room or Apartment Condition Form, which will be accessed during the Self Check-Out process.
  • If you live in a building with key or key card access, follow instructions from your hall staff to return your key or key card.

Hamper Availability

Moving hampers are only available during scheduled moving days. In order to borrow a hamper you must bring a government issued ID.

On non-scheduled days a limited number of Hampers are available at the RSO Desk in Speare Hall on a first come, first served basis during office hours.

Move-Out Parking

Parking is First-Come, First-Served and all cars must have a printed parking pass.

Parking is not guaranteed and is based on a first come first serve basis. Parking/Unloading Passes are good for entry after 7am and departure before 11pm during the listed moving days only. Directions to move-in parking locations can be found here.

Parking in designated/signed parking spots is prohibited, unless a valid handicap placard is displayed.

If You are Moving to a Different Room in University Housing:

You do not have to move out between Summer I and Summer II. There is a Move to/from period during which you will move from your current assignment to your new assignment.

Summer I Move-in

Summer I move-in depends on a students assignment, please do NOT book travel outside of Boston until you have received your confirmed move-to-from date.

If You are Moving from a Different University Spring Housing Assignment:

You can leave your things in your spring space until your assigned move-to-from date.

Air Conditioners

For buildings that do not have central air (You can find the list of buildings and their eligibility here), air conditioners will be available to rent at a One Summer Semester (half summer) or full summer rate, after the start of the semester. Please note, not every room in buildings without central air are eligible for air conditioner units.

The request form will be available on Housing Online under Spring/Summer I 2025 and “Summer 2025: AC Request Form”. Please fill out the form to determine eligibility. Once your request form has been approved, approvals take 2-3 business days to process, you will be billed the air conditioner fee on your Student Account. AC units are installed in about 2-3 business days after approval.
