Undergraduates who enter as first-year students through fall admission and NUin will live in university housing during their first and second years, unless a global experience or co-op experience takes them outside of the city of Boston.

Second-Year Thematic Adventure Communities (TACs) are communities designed specifically for second-year students living in university housing. These communities provide opportunities for second-year students to connect over a shared interest with other second-year students living in university housing, explore the greater Boston area, and learn more about themselves.

Unlike our first-year living-learning communities (LLCs), students are not required to live in a particular university housing community in order to participate.

How to Join

If you are a second-year student living in university housing for 2021-2022 and interested in joining a TAC, you will start by completing an interest form, linked here. We encourage those interested to complete this form by Friday, August 23.

  • In late August, you will receive more information welcoming you to the TAC(s) you are interested in.
  • If you are interested in joining a TAC after August, you may still complete the linked interest form and we will communicate more information to you 1-2 weeks after you submit the form.

Please note: you must be a second-year student living in university housing in order to join. If you do not yet know your Spring 2022 plans or are moving out of university housing for Spring 2022, you may still join a TAC for Fall 2021.
